Prof. Stefan Leupertz and Dr. Paul Popescu practise nationally and internationally as dispute resolvers in complex commercial transactions, particularly in disputes relating to construction and plant engineering law. Consequently, traditional arbitration proceedings form a key part of our range of services. However, experience in the recent past in particular shows that investors, companies and even the public sector are increasingly recognising that a swift resolution of a dispute is sometimes more cost-effective than a time-consuming legal process involving lengthy proceedings and rulings. They are therefore increasingly seeking procedural solutions that are better suited to their project, their dispute and their specific needs than a full-scale arbitration proceeding. We recognised this trend at an early stage and have helped shape it from the outset. Such facilitative procedures in disputes of all sizes now account for more than half of our portfolio.
